Day 20 - 365 Days of Art - Ice Fishing

Ice Fishing
Merry Christmas! We watched Grumpy Old Men and man was it just as good as I remembered. If you haven't seen it or its been a while, go rent it, download it whatever, and watch it again. It's still super funny. Old people cursing is never NOT funny! ha ha! Anyways I was thinking about how I would like to go ice fishing someday and drew just that.

Day 19 - 365 Days of Art - Darth Vader Snuggie

The Brand New All Black Darth Vader Snuggie with Bonus Doggy Vader Snuggie

Was watching a lot of tv with all the commercials and the bonus items if you act now - Anyway I thought it would be hilarious if they came out with an all black snuggie... they could call it the Darth Vader Snuggie. I'd totally buy it then. What's with all the bright colors of those things? I wouldnt mind having a snuggie but I wouldnt really want people to know - BAM! I'm wearing my snuggie! ha ha ha

Day 15, 16 - 365 Days of Art - Ebel, Sorrow

Ebel the Angel (Day 15)
Sorrow (Day 16)

The First drawing is just Ebel the Angel. He's adorable isn't her. If you look back to Day 1 that's where he was first conceived, and I really liked him, so I think he may pop up more days throughout the year.

The Second is just a face called Sorrow. Theres been so much death lately its quite scary. I had just found out a little while before that a girl I went to middle school with died and it hit me a bit harder than I would have expected. I cried for the loss of a girl I haven't known in some fifteen years. The face also looks kinda like Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen for some reason, don't know why. I actually used Kevin Spacey's face to do this so who knows?!

Day 14 - 365 Days of Art - America's Dinner

America's Dinner

So we were watching Food Inc. yesterday and its another documentary that will open up your eyes. I am already an avid buyer of the free range eggs, and buying fresh foods instead of prepackaged foods pumped with high fructose corn syrup (although we all have our vices), but I still can't believe what's going on with the farms. It sucks how the farmers have to abide by the corporations policies in order to barely make enough to live on and accrue large amounts of debt. Anyway there was this part about them growing the over sized chickens that grow in like a third of the time and so that's what I drew today.

I'd suggest checking out the film, its quite well done and informative. Check out the official Food Inc Website for more info on the movie.

Day 12 & 13 - 365 Days of Art - Eraser Head, Hidden World

Eraser Head (Day 12)
There's Always A Hidden World Where You Least Expect It
(Day 13)

Just some random drawings. Nothing really behind them. I do need to add I watched Where the Wild Things Are last night and was quite disappointed. Spike Jonze made it way more depressing than it should have been. Boo!

Day 11 - 365 Days of Art - The Snowman

The Snowman
Ahhh, just a few minutes late, better late than never though right?

This one is of the short film The Snowman. I don't know if you've ever seen it, its kind of old now, from 1982, but its a great little piece of work. The artwork and animation is amazing because its so detailed and looks like it was drawn by hand, still by still. I love the music in it too, its pretty haunting. Either way if you have not see it, find a way to do so, it is sad, but its great. It makes you remember how wonderful it is to be a kid again.

Day 10 - 365 Days of Art - Lt. Creep, Xavier's Clown Hat

Lieutenant Creep
Xavier's Clown Hat

So this first one I actually started yesterday but finished today. I'm not quite sure how it got a military-esque feel to it, but it kinda did. It started out just as a douche bag guy that hits on girls and turned into something creepier....

The second is just Xavier the PuppyDragon wearing a funny hat... I've been sleep deprived, what can I say?! If you don't know what puppydragons are yet check out the official PuppyDragon Land website.
